Strategic Design

MUO-E9010

The course provides a foundation into the role, methods, and applications of Strategic Design. Strategic design applies some of the principles of traditional design to "big picture" systemic challenges like health care, education, and climate change. It redefines how problems are approached, identifies opportunities for action, and helps deliver more complete and resilient solutions. The course is built around a mix of lectures, group discussions, exercises, and case study work.

On successful completion of this course, students will be able to understand and communicate the value of strategic design in responding to challenges of complexity, explore the opportunities and implications of how strategic design might help organizations operate more effectively, and apply basic strategic design concepts in the furtherance of their other activities and interests.
