C-ACCELERATE

C-Accelerate is focused on increasing the innovation and entrepreneurial capacity in higher education in the fields of the arts and creative practices. C-Accelerate has four dimensions that represent its core pillars 1) entrepreneurial education; 2) project development and business acceleration; 3) support structures for creativity and knowledge transfer 4) collaboration and institutional engagement.This potentially 2-year, €1.2 million project will allow us here at IDBM to truly scale up our educational offering, while simultaneously exploring new, innovative angles within the field of experiential entrepreneurial education. Moreover, this project will also allow us to see how our experiential learning models apply in creative contexts and industries such as film-making. The goal of this project is to accelerate the role of creative communities and industries through entrepreneurial education and our partners include FilmEU - European Universities Alliance for Film and Media Arts, Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Tallinn University, LUCA School of Arts, and Aalto Entrepreneurship Society.

IDBM & C-ACCELERATE

IDBM plays a central role within the project as the coordinator and key executor of many of the activities within the project. In practice, this means that IDBM courses, particularly the IDBM Challenge and IDBM Industry Project, will actively be involved as cases and supporting activities within the project. For example, this year (2022), two industry projects will be conducted with early-stage startups (with funding from C-ACCELERATE), allowing our students the opportunity to work closely with entrepreneurs and startups, and for our faculty to develop our pedagogical methods with a focus on experiential entrepreneurial education. In Phase 2 (January 2023 - June 2024), we will look to further scale up our educational offerings - developing new educational content with our consortium university partners, as well as looking at ways to further empower student-driven entrepreneurship with our consortium partner and long time collaborator, Aalto Entrepreneurship Society. From IDBM, Ville Eloranta serves as the Principal Investigator (PI), Apurva Ganoo as the Project Coordinator, and Helena Eharand as the IDBM/Aalto Communications Liaison for C-ACCELERATE.
